View source for Amine Losses

The amine sweetening process can experience some loss of amine. However, in case of heavy losses or a sudden change in the amine losses, the following areas should be investigated:
*excessive Amine lost from contactor:
:-excessive gas flow causing jet flooding
:-incoming lean amine too hot
*excessive amine lost from regenerator:
:-free water or liquid hydrocarbons flooding regenerator
:-reflux condenser cooling properly
:-reflux pump operating correctly
:-reboiler/stripping steam temperature too hot
*physical amine leaks:
:-heat exchanger or vessel leaks
:-pump, flange, or valve leaks
:-corrosion-induced ruptures
