TEG Losses

The TEG dehydration process may experience some loss of TEG. However, in case of heavy losses or a sudden change in the TEG losses, the following areas should be investigated:
- excessive TEG lost from contactor:
- -excessive gas flow causing entrainment flooding?
- -incoming lean TEG too hot?
- excessive TEG lost from TEG stripping column:
- -reflux coil cooling properly to condense carryover vaporized TEG?
- -reboiler/stripping steam temperature too hot?
- -liquid hydrocarbons flooding column?
- physical TEG leaks:
- -heat exchangers or vessel leaks?
- -pump, flange, or valve leaks?
